Daniel Daemen

Alto Saxophonist Daniƫl Daemen (Belgium, 1977) has been very active on stages throughout Europe, in Russia and in the United States, with Gerald Cannon, Bert Joris, John Engels, Gino Vanelli, Carlo Nardozza and Harmen Fraanje.

He contributed to projects ranging from Gregorian music to contemporary jazz. Influenced by Johnny Hodges, Lee Konitz, Mark Turner, David Binney and Hayden Chisholm, he developed a unique and lyrical style on the alto.

He moves his listeners with interesting improvisations, the creation of fine melodies and interaction with the band members always being of the foremost importance.
